East Bay artist Reed has been livin' the bohemian artist's dream for years! Staying pure to his low brow roots, he captures the memories of youth with his hot rod metallic visions... Using liberal doses of Big Daddy Roth, R. Crumb, and something highly original that he brings into the mix!! Reed's art is from the streets... From the gutter to be exact! A sick mixture of hot rods, hair, puke, surtfboards, skateboards, scabs, bloodshot eyes, and nightmarish beings that haunt his innermost subconscious... Reed's art is not pretty; his pen strokes are few and to the point. His cool artistic visions hark back to a funner, simpler time, when weird-o's, rat finks, odd rods, and monstrous creatures ruled the pop culture landscape... He mixes up psychobilly, surf, hot rod, punk, and anarchy into a huge salad joint and coughs up a potent cloud of second hand smoke that is intoxicating to anyone with a view!

Reed's Party Punks are all "born" in his underground garage, two blocks from the beach in Alameda, California. Each image is first pulled from his twisted brain and ceremonially burned onto a cartoonist animation cell. From there he painstakingly hand paints his freakish masterpiece onto the cell and sends it off to production... After that it's party time!!!

If you haven't seen Reed's art before, then you just don't know where to look. His art has plastered its way onto many album covers such as A.F.I., ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, THE EAST BAY CHASERS, THE OOZZIES, and a shit load of other ones too numerous to mention. Reed has also done a grip of skateboard designs for SANTA CRUZ SKATEBOARDS, CREATURE SKATEBOARDS, and ANTI HERO SKATEBOARDS to name a few... His acrylic paintings have hung in lowbrow gallery shows next to some of custom culture's greatest, including ROBERT WILLIAMS, THE PIZZ, and many others too numerous to mention... His custom painted hot rods have also sat in car shows next to some of the greatest builders and car painters ever known... so why do you ask yourself, "Why have I still never heard of this guy?" And the answer is, folks, that he doesn't give a flying fuck about any of that shit! His main objective is to just do it, not to take pictures of it and send it to some lame magazine so his buddies can pat him on the back. He does it because if he didn't, he would fuckin' explode...

To add even more mayhem to this overload of artistic work, Reed has been the driving force behind a shit load of punk bands since the early eighties. He has toured the States and Europe several times and has recorded a large handful of albums, most recently with the EAST BAY CHASERS... Reed currently works as a tattoo artist in the East Bay and has been carving freakish designs into people's flesh on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley for over 12 years...
